Angkor Wat, Cambodia

"One of these temples—a rival to that of Solomon, and erected  by some ancient Michelangelo—might take an honourable place beside our most beautiful buildings. It is grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome..."(Wikipedia)
Entrance fee: one day visit USD 20
Panoramic view of Angkor Wat,
Angkor Wat is one of the world's largest religious monument, and it was built during the reign of Suryavarman II around 1113-1150
The temple is surrounded by a 190m-wide moat, and the only way to access it is through this causeway.
The architectural style show the apogee of classical Khmer construction.  Angkor Wat is a masterpiece in fine proportions and rich in detail
